There are two kinds of glass fiber production processes: two forming - crucible drawing method, one forming - pool furnace drawing method.

The crucible drawing process is various. First, glass raw materials are melted into glass balls at high temperature, then glass balls are melted twice, and high-speed wire drawing is used to make glass fiber precursor. This process has many disadvantages, such as high energy consumption, unstable forming process, low labor productivity and so on. It is basically eliminated by large glass fiber manufacturers.

Glass fibre process flow chart The glass fibre raw materials such as pyrophyllite are melted into glass solution in the kiln by pool drawing method. After removing bubbles, they are transported to the porous leaky plate through the channel, and the glass fibre precursor is drawn at high speed. The kiln can connect hundreds of leaking plates through several paths to produce at the same time. This process is simple, energy-saving and consumption-reducing, stable moulding, high efficiency and high yield. It is convenient for large-scale automatic production and has become the mainstream international production process. The glass fiber produced by this process accounts for more than 90% of the global production.
